New Music Tuesday: Grayscale

New Music Tuesday: Grayscale

I’ve been hearing a lot about Grayscale lately. Whether it was on other blogs, or just around social media and Spotify, the band has really been making a statement in the pop punk world. I’d heard a couple of their songs in various playlists–for example, ” ” is in the Pop Punk’s Not Dead playlist on Spotify–and figured it was about time to sit down and see what the buzz was about.

A bit of background: Grayscale is a pop-punk band from Philadelphia, PA–or as they described in their Facebook bio, “Philly coffee shop rock.” (Both descriptions are quite accurate, but more on that in a minute.) The band came together in 2011 as a high school band, and quickly established a fan base. Grayscale recently signed with Fearless Records (Pierce the Veil, Real Friends, Tonight Alive) Members include Collin Walsh (vocals), Dallas Molster (guitar, vocals), Andrew Kyne (guitar), Nick Ventimiglia (bass), and Nick Veno (drums).

Grayscale released their second album (which also happens to be their debut album with Fearless Records) on May 5, titled Adornment. The album happens to feature one of my favorite vocalists, Patty Walters of AS IT IS, on track #2. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it, and hope to get more in depth on it in the near future! If you haven’t checked it out yet, you can listen below or click the album title above!

Grayscale released a music video on March 30 for the single “Atlantic” off Adornment.

So what’s next for the band? Well, if you live in the Chicago area (or near enough to drive there), Grayscale is on the lineup for RIOT Fest this September! Other names on the lineup include Paramore, State Champs, Knuckle Puck, A Day to Remember, Nine Inch Nails, Mayday Parade, and so many more!

Also coming up: Grayscale will be a part of the upcoming Punk Goes Pop: Volume 7 with their cover of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself!” I’m not a huge fan of the original song, but the pop punk covers are always better than the original! Punk Goes Pop: Volume 7 will be out on July 14 and is available for preorder now.

**Sidenote: I apologize for the fact that most of my links aren’t colored differently as usual, something is up with WordPress.
