Welcome to the first New Music Tuesday of 2018! We’re kicking off the year by heading over to the U.K. with Everafter.
Who are they?
Everafter is a three-piece power rock band from East London, U.K, currently signed with indie label Hummdrumm Records. The band was created in 2010 and began playing shows in 2011. Everafter has performed in big UK venues such as Water Rats (King’s Cross), Barfly (Camden), and The Half Moon (Putney). Everafter worked with the late producer Chris Tsangarides (Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy) on their debut LP Everything is One (2014). The band’s current lineup features Alexis Daperis (vocals, guitars), Stefan Daperis (bass, vocals), and Tim Wiltshire (drums).
How do they sound?
Really good! Everafter has listed Green Day and Blink-182, among others, as influences on their musical style, and it shows. Listening to their music felt like listening to early Green Day, and as a big GD fan, I loved it. “Let Me Be Yours” and “Everything is One,” off Everything is One, are great examples. Everafter has a classic punk sound that makes for a great addition to today’s punk scene. You can find their music on Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon, so go check them out!
What are they up to?
Everafter released a new single, “Over You Tonight” on December 11, 2017. This is the first single off their sophomore album, which is currently in production. Everafter is halfway done recording album #2, so stay tuned!
